Introduction
Most
artist's I know, like myself, have a need to create. Something compels
us to interpret what we see in nature into a personal vision on canvas,
paper or as
sculpture. As I’ve marveled in
the detail of God’s creations, I try to express them in my paintings.
People often ask what inspired a certain painting. Occasionally, in
this
journal, I will offer comments on some of the originals or prints
on this site.
As a former educator, I'll
also share some thoughts on the artistic process, techniques and
philosophy.
Recently I was honored to be selected as a signature member of the the
Artists for Conservation.
"The Artists for Conservation Foundation (AFC) -formerly the Worldwide
Nature Artists Group (WNAG) - is a non-profit, international
organization dedicated to
the celebration and preservation of the natural world. The
Foundation represents the world's leading collective of nature artists
and an unparalleled pool of artistic talent
focused on nature. The organization's mission is to support
wildlife and habitat conservation, biodiversity, sustainability and
environmental education through art that
celebrates our natural heritage."
